The Masks of Dark Faiths
- Unless in an area where strong traces of the character’s deity linger, a character casting a divine spell takes subdual damage equal to 1 plus the spell’s level every time he/she casts a divine spell. The damage occurs after the spell is cast (i.e. if a cleric casts a healing spell, the subdual damage will not be affected by the spell causing it). This ability to draw on one’s own strength to cast a divine spell comes from the gift of life given by the deities themselves at the beginning of time.
